The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to build and shape a Manchester ABAS function from the ground up. You’ll be joining a firm that’s investing seriously in its Northwest presence, and this role sits right at the heart of that growth story.
You’ll go beyond the numbers — building trusted client relationships, understanding the businesses behind them, navigating risk, and delivering insights that genuinely support decision-making. As Senior Manager, you’ll drive business development, win new clients, build strong regional market relationships, and create a high-performing team to support delivery across the region — establishing Manchester as a key hub within the wider Northwest ABAS business.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Service Delivery
- Grow the new client base and extend services to existing clients
- Ensure delivery of high-quality client service within agreed deadlines and budgets
Business Development
- Support partners and directors in achieving growth targets by building the Manchester ABAS function
- Confidently network across the Manchester market, generating leads from intermediaries and contacts
Technical & Quality
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge relevant to the role
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, tax, audit, and regulatory standards
- Support quality assurance and risk management initiatives
Team Leadership & People Management
- Grow a portfolio and develop a team in a new location (Manchester)
Communication
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Contribute to the North-West Senior Leadership team
Require
- ACA/ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards
- Sound understanding of departmental objectives and KPIs
- Awareness of a full-service firm’s product and service offering
